Theology 301

Theology 301 will meet on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, 7-9pm, and be taught by Dr. Grant Weinberg.

The King Has Come: A Survey of the New Testament

Christians have to be a people of the Book. There is no other way around this. It is not enough to listen to good teaching or to read what other people have said about it. We must not be a people of vibe theologians. We have been blessed to have the Word and must know what it says for ourselves. The lives that have been lost and the blood that has been shed to get our own copies of God’s Word demands that we not take it for granted. Spurgeon said of John Bunyan, “Prick him anywhere: and you will find that  his blood is Bibline.” I pray that this may be said of me one day and many other Christians in my circle.

This course is for any Christian who wants another round through the New Testament with other brothers and sisters in Christ, to grow their own knowledge and encourage those around them to do likewise.

There will be reading, discussion, note taking, and some writing assignments to help develop one’s own thoughts and beliefs beyond what one is taught.

A minimum of 5 students is needed in order for this class to be offered.

9/13Matthew1/10Galatians & Ephesians

If the Old Testament sets the stage, the New Testament is the main event. Surveying the Gospels, Acts, Paul’s letters, the General Epistles, and Revelation, one will see how all these fit together and culminate in the second coming of Christ.
